![]() ![]() I would expect a Pantheon article to cover current events, not be generically vague about a divided fan base (CU has very few fans to speak of these days) and 3 months out of date. Heck everything you wrote could be copy and pasted onto a Pantheon comment section.ĭoesn't mean that if MMORPG wrote an article like this for that game it would be wrong. Pantheon for instance hasn't gotten 15mil but it got 3 million dollars in funding, as also hired new key hires, and also has been focusing on engine development as they are building there own from scratch. Sure but should new funding really not acquaint to an article like this. This site should be embarrassed for publishing this article today. 's clickbait title is dividing its userbaseĪbsolutely no idea what prompted this article to be written and the author clearly isn't aware of recent developments including MJ's live stream confirming $15M in new funding, several key new hires nor the big focus on engine development and the controversy around it including news it's designer left CSE to take a contract job at Meta.īottom line, studio nearly went broke, development slowed to a crawl, no evidence of refunds being paid with any regularity. I believe that will launch far sooner than CU ever does, and be far better than CU if CU ever launches, and have it be done with far less money. That game was truly indie despite McQuaid's involvement. Oh and Pantheon is far more playable and has a far better directions with far more communication with its base. But every step he has made with this "game" has been nothing more than spitting in the face of the people who believed in him and the possibility of this game. Maybe it didn't set out like that but if someone just reads the bullet point timeline from KS creation to now, how can any other conclusion be reached? Mark Jacobs is a piece of shit, and its a shame to say that since I liked the guy prior. How is the hell in this day and age, with 3-4 times the funding and 3-4 times the development time, can a game take this long and never produce anything. it was created by a small team, including Jacobs, for less than 5 million and in 3 years if I remember correct. DAOC was one of the best MMO's ever created. They had a more playable product within days of launching the KS then they have now 10+ years later. I backed it what over 10 years ago at this point. But at least it produced something however short lived. I never had high hopes on that and it was an utter failure. ![]() And some of these issues, according to Kanishka, has divided its fanbase. However, the development has been maligned by delays, the announcement of a new game, and more. Last KS that produced a product that released was Crowfall. Camelot Unchained is meant to be the spiritual successor of Mark Jacobs' Dark Age of Camelot and seeks to become one of the newest PvP-focused MMORPGs on the block. But they did produce a decent overall game that "released". Sadly they recently reneged on promises they made on the Kickstarter in regards to open trading. That definitely produced a playable and somewhat good game. Last Epoch was another, though I forgot I backed it and bought it again on Steam lol. The best result of Kickstarter for me was Grim Dawn which turned into either the best or second best AARPG ever made and the dev's crafted an amazing game and kept supporting it for close to 10 years. One of the 4 kickstarter's I have backed. ![]()
